Recycled Music dates back many years to when I started to think about the cheesy ‘demo songs’ that are often found on synthesisers. These types of tracks are designed to show off the range, technical prowess and potential of the synth, but are often absolutely terrible.
I wondered if I could rescue these tracks and turn them into something good – or at least less bad than the original.
I ended up producing three releases over quite a long span of time, trying to reshape the tracks into interesting new forms.
Recycled music 1 – Yamaha QY70
Recycled music 2 – Casio MT240
Recycled music 3 – Yamaha RS7000
